Susan LamontagneSusan Lamontagne is thrilled to be in the Upper Valley sharing her passion for the dance and the arts!  Zumba is a way to share dance and health with everyone trained dancer to the kitchen dancer!!

She started dancing at age 3 and just kept going!  Her dance training includes Classical Ballet, Jazz (lyrical and Musical Theatre), Modern and tap.  She has trained in NY, as well as many other places throughout the US, Japan and basically …wherever there was class!

One of the biggest thrills of her career was working under the guidance of Gwen Verdon, Anne Reinking and Chet Walker (director for Broadway’s revival of Pippin, Program Dir. of Jacob’s Pillow) in the restaging of Bob Fosse’s work in the Broadway show Fosse where she also got to dance dance along side Ben Vereen, Bebe Neworth, Anne Reinking herself and some of Theater’s hottest choreographers Josh Rhodes and Andy Blankenbueler , Desmond Richardson and as well as some of the best dancers in NYC.  Her 20-year professional performing career included Broadway, Nat’l and Internat’l Tours including the Tony Award winning Fosse (Original B’way company),  (Demeter – Broadway, Nat’l Tour & Germany), Red, Hot & Blue (Papermill Playhouse), West Side Story (Gratziella – Nat’l & European tours), Peter Pan starring Cathy Rigby (Original Tiger Lily), Starlight Express (Ashley – Germany & Las Vegas) and A Chorus Line (Kristine).

After taking a break from performing on stage Susan has been directing, choreographing and teaching many forms of theater arts in schools, dance schools and theater programs around the US and Canada.  Her Upper Valley Directorial / Choreography credits include Pentangle Arts & Artistree CATS and Rocky Horror Picture Show(Choreo only)NCCT’s On The Town,  42nd Street (Choreo only) and Opera North’s My Fair Lady (Choreo only).  Out of town directorial/Choreography work include Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, Lend Me A Tenor, and Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, Peter Pan, The Wizard Of Oz and too many reviews to mention.

Susan considers it an honor and responsibility to pass on the techniques and styles of the many amazing choreographers, directors and mentors she’s had the privilege of studying all while adding her own style. She is also a reoccurring guest artist director/choreographer with Arts Quest out of Washington and Arts In Reach in southern NH as well as being a board member for the City Center Ballet. She is a co-chairs for the annuial “A Taste Of Our Season” Gala where she also restaged West Side
