Classes and Schedules

 

Children’s Division

An introduction for boys and girls, ages 3+, to the wonder and excitement of dance. They will develop confidence and self-esteem within an environment that encourages expressiveness and joy of movement. Pre-Ballet is a prelude to formal ballet instruction and introduces children to the world of classical ballet through stories, music and movement in a structured progression that stresses creativity and group interaction. Ballet I provides students with a structured curriculum to develop strong bodies and a passion to excel. Repetition and attention to details are emphasized while encouraging a strong focus and active participation. An introduction to Character Dance is included in Ballet I classes.


Dance with Me (40 min.)
Ages 3+ (must be 3 by 8/29)
For children, age 3+. A child’s natural love of dancing will be enhanced through body awareness, listening skills, and rhythmic movement in a structured yet imaginative environment. Students attend one class weekly.
6 Week Term: $55
Girls: Pink tank dress, white ankle socks, pink leather ballet slippers.
Boys: White t-shirt, black fitted shorts, white ankle socks, black leather ballet slippers.
 

Friday: 3:15-3:55pm

 


pre_ballet_TNPre Ballet (¾ Hour)
Ages 4+ (must be 4 by 8/29)
Through classroom activities, will learn control and coordination in their movements while enhancing their listening, cooperation, and social skills in a nurturing environment. Students must be ready to participate without parental supervision. Students attend one class weekly.
Trimester: $165
Girls: Pink tank dress, white ankle socks, pink leather ballet slippers.
Boys: White t-shirt, black fitted shorts, white ankle socks, black leather ballet slippers.
 

Wednesday: 3:30-4:15pm

Saturday: 10:00-10:45am


Ballet I (1 Hour)
Ages 6+ (Must be 6 by 8/29)
This class combines creative expression with structured ballet training, including basic positions, terminology, and coordination in a nurturing environment. An introduction to Character Dance is included.
Students attend one class weekly.
Trimester: $195
Girls: Light Blue tank dress, pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers. Caramel character shoes.
Boys: White t-shirt, black fitted shorts, white ankle socks, black ballet slippers. Black character shoes.
 

Monday 3:45-4:45pm

Saturday 9:00-10:00am


Student Division

Two or more weekly ballet classes are required as the technical skills increase and more vocabulary is introduced in the Student Division. Students must possess the determination to commit to a challenging ballet program. Placement is carefully determined by age, physical strength and development of each student. Students are introduced to progressively more complex levels of ballet technique, and are promoted according to their individual progress. An introduction to Character Dance is included in Ballet II classes. The additional classes in Dance Essentials: Character Dance, Stretch and Conditioning and Musical Theater Dance are recommended for students in Ballet III-V to enrich their dance education. Attendance in Lebanon Ballet School workshops and specialty classes is also encouraged. Students are eligible to audition for roles in City Center Ballet productions.


Ballet-II_TNBallet II (1 hour)
Ages 8+ (must be age 8 by 8/29)
Students at this level focus on building their vocabulary, combination of steps, and correct body placement. An introduction to Character Dance is included. Students attend one class weekly – MUST take two classes weekly to be eligible to participate in City Center Ballet productions.
Trimester: $195
Girls: Lavender tank dress, pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers.  Caramel character shoes.
Boys: White t-shirt, black fitted shorts, white ankle socks, black leather ballet slippers. Black character shoes.
 

Wednesday: 4:15-5:15pm ~ 4 pts

Friday: 4:00-5:00pm ~4 pts

★Saturday: 10:45-11:45am ~ 4 pts

★Required class for all City Center Ballet Dancers

 

 


Ballet III (1¼ – 1½ hours)
Ages 10+ (must be age 10 by 8/29)
Required: 2 classes weekly.
Attention to correct body placement, alignment, and building more strength and control of the limbs and torso. The additional classes in Dance Essentials are optional but recommended.
Girls: Royal camisole leotard, royal pull on wrap skirt, pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers.
Boys: White t-shirts, black fitted shorts or  black tights and black leather slippers.
 

Wednesday: 5:15-6:45pm ~ 6 pts

★Saturday: 11:45-1:00pm ~ 5 pts

★Required class for all City Center Ballet Dancers


Ballet IV (1¼-2 hours)
Ages 11+ w/ 2+ years of ballet
Required: 3 Ballet classes weekly
This level necessitates a strong desire for a classical ballet education. A continuation of studies with age-appropriate curriculum for growing bodies. Pointe is included in the classes. The additional classes in Dance Essentials are optional but recommended.
Girls: Garnet camisole leotard, garnet pull on wrap skirt, pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers.
Boys: White t-shirts, black fitted shorts or  black tights and black leather slippers.
 

Thursday: 4:30-6:30pm ~ 8 pts

★Friday: 5:00-7:00pm ~ 8 pts

★Saturday: 9:15am-10:45pm ~ 6 pts

★Required class for all City Center Ballet Dancers


Ballet V (1½ hours)
Ages 13+ w/ 4+ years of ballet
Required: 4 Ballet classes weekly and 2 Pointe Classes
Placement for this level is by  permission of the staff. This level consolidates all of the basic elements of classical training, with the continued emphasis on technique, coordination, stability, and artist expression. The additional classes in Dance Essentials are optional but recommended.
Girls: Black camisole leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers.
Boys: White t-shirts, black tights and black leather slippers.

Tuesday: 4:00-5:30pm ~ 6 pts

★Wednesday: 4:30-6:00pm ~ 6 pts

★Friday: 5:00-6:30pm ~ 6 pts

★Saturday: 11:30am-1:00pm ~ 6 pts

★Required class for all City Center Ballet Dancers


Pointe & Variations (¾-1 hour)
The pointe and variations classes provide students with the opportunity to learn the classical variations of ballets such as Giselle, La Bayadere, The Sleeping Beauty and others. Learning the variations enhance the students technical achievements, understanding of the ballet repertoire and stage presence. MUST be enrolled in Ballet V
Class leotard with skirts.
 

Monday: 5:30-6:15pm~ 3 pts

Tuesday: 5:30-6:30pm ~ 4 pts

 


Dance Essentials


Stretch and Conditioning (½ hour)
Ages 11+  Improve technique and performance by stretching the body’s core (abdominal and back muscles) while improving coordination, balance, and alignment and optimizing flexibilty. The result is greater movement without tension, better plies, higher jumps with less effort, tighter turns, and improved extension and turnout. A theraband, towel, and floor mat are recommended.
Attire: Leotard, comfortable pants and socks.

Thursday: 3:50-4:20pm ~ 2 pts


Character Dance
The study of character dance technique is designed to provide students an opportunity to broaden the knowledge of dance styles. Character dance is a stylized representation of traditional national dances of Hungary, Russia (mazurka), Poland, Italy (tarantella), and Spain. Character dance adaptations are integral to much of classical ballet repertoire.
Girls: Caramel character shoes, black character skirt
Boys: Black character shoes
 

Character Dance 1 (¾ Hour) – Ages 8+
Saturday: 10:45-11:30am ~ 3 pts

Character Dance 2 (1 Hour) – Ages 11+
Friday: 4:00-5:00pm ~ 4 pts


Musical Theater Dance 1 (1 hour)
Students, ages 11+, will learn the basic elements of musical theater dance; age-appropriate movements, terminology, stage presence and proper body alignment while learning the choreography from Broadway shows. This class can be combine with other Student Division classes.
Girls: Solid colored leotard, capri pants over footless tights, character or jazz shoes.
Boys: White T-shirts, black pants, jazz shoes.
 

Wednesday: 6:45-7:45pm ~ 4 pts

 


Musical Theater Dance 2 (1½ hours)
For dancers 13+ with a ballet background or by permission of the staff, This class is designed for trained ballet students who want to explore the world of Broadway.
Girls: Solid colored leotard, capri pants over footless tights, character or jazz shoes.
Boys: White T-shirts, black pants, jazz shoes.
 

Thursday: 4:30-6:00pm ~ 6 pts

 


Teen and Adult Division

Classes in classical ballet are offered for teens and adults of all levels–beginning through advanced. These are open classes for students to learn the essential elements at a pace that is appropriate for the  group’s maturity and physical levels. The emphasis is learning terminology and proper body alignment in an enjoyable atmosphere. Students are encouraged to expand their dance education with additional classes in Musical Theater Dance and Stretch and Conditioning. No previous experience is needed.
Students taking one class per week may pay by the single class for $15 or by purchasing a 10 week card for $130. Class cards are good for the school year. There is a $20 registration fee annually.


Ballet For Teens And Adults (1¼ hour)
Ages 13+
Learn the fundamentals of ballet; terminology, proper body alignment, barre work, basic center floor exercises while gaining flexibility and strength in an enjoyable environment.
Ladies: Black leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers.
Gents: White t-shirts, black tights and black leather slippers.
 

Tuesday: 4:00-5:15pm ~ 5 pts

Tuesday: 6:00-7:15pm ~ 5 pts

Thursday: 6:30-7:45pm ~ 5 pts


Ballet for Adults (1 hour)
Ages 55+
Of all the performing arts, dance is the one that has been recognized  as  the  most  therapeutic  in  maintaining  our mental and physical health as we age. And it’s never too late to  learn  ballet.  This  class  is  for  Senior  Citizens  that  are looking for a enjoyable activity with particular attention to balance, coordination and movement. Engage in the art of dance with inspirational music and have fun at the same time!
Attire:Comfortable clothing that is easy to move in. Ballet slippers.
 

Wednesday: 10:15-11:15am ~ 4 pts



Specialty Workshops/Master Classes

Specialty workshops will offered throughout the year, including Nutrition, Pilates and more. Whenever possible, guest artists, choreographers or teachers visiting or working with the professional company will teach master classes.

Girls: Leotard color is shown for each class, pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers, hair in bun or secured from face.
Boys: White t-shirt, black shorts, black or white leather ballet slippers.
